OSCE reports about problems delivering humanitarian aid to Donbass

16 thousand tons of humanitarian aid can’t be delivered to Donbass. This was reported by special representative of OSCE in Trilateral (Ukraine-Russia-OSCE) Contact Group Martin Sajdik after another round of negotiation regarding the situation on the East of Ukraine was finished.

“About 16 thousand tons of humanitarian aid are ready, that’s about 800 trucks, but the delivery can’t be done” said Sajdik after the meeting in Minsk. “We ask Ukraine to open as many checkpoints along the contact line in Lugansk Region as possible” quotes Russian BBC the words of Sajdik.

He also said that the leaders of self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR” banned activities of international humanitarian organization on the territories controlled by separatists in the middle in July. The only organization that still works in certain areas of Donbass is Red Cross.

Humanitarian aid according to Sajdik was delivered to villages along the contact line that need it the most.

As it was reported before humanitarian aid will be distributed among people on October 21 in Lugansk.
