Kremlin is against OSCE armed mission in Donbass

The head of MFA RF Sergei Lavrov claimed that preposition to place the OSCE police mission  in Donbass contradicts to Minsk agreements. ‘Interfax-Ukraine’ has reported about it.

‘At the moment, when the issue of ensuring the security during the elections is discussed, we are ready to local law enforcements were accompanied by unarmed OSCE observers for them to convince in providing of the safety during elections’, he said on a joint press conference with Foreign Minister of Austria Sebastian Kurz, presiding in the OSCE

Moreover, Lavrov noted that Moscow don’t mind that OSCE can work 24/7 as on the demarcation line and in the stocks of weapon.

We are ready to increase the number of monitors on the demarcation line and in stocks, to make this presence 24/7 and to give an opportunity to carry private firearms’, he said.  

At the same time, answering on a question about transferring of the control of the border to Ukraine, Lavrov reminded that ‘it’s the last step of the implementation of Minsk agreements’.

‘First of all amnesty must be done, then the law about special status must be accepted and mount on a permanent basis in the Constitution of Ukraine, elections are held. And all these things must be done by form coordinated with Donbass’, the head of MFA RF said.
