Murders of Starobelsk mayor were sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment

The Prosecutor’s Office of Luhansk region has supported the state (public) prosecution in the criminal proceedings on the fact of the premeditated murder of the Starobelsk mayor of Vladimir Zhivago. The appointment of convicts in the form of imprisonment for 15 years occurred on the principle position of the prosecutor in criminal proceedings.

As it was reported earlier, in the evening of February 26, 2016 Starobelsk mayor was killed with shots in the head directly near the building of a city council. He died in an ambulance carriage.

Later, PR-Department of the National Police of Ukraine has reported that the attacker fired three shots from a pistol, two of them became deadly to the victim.

On February 26, 2016 police staff of Luhansk region together with SBU detained previously convicted 22-year-old inhabitant of Markovka district. According to the words of detained he committed murder of Vladimir Zhivago for mercenary motives. On February 22 in 07:30 pm he made three shots from ‘PM’ pistol. Two of them became deadly…

The suspect was detained.

Later the investigation detected that two Luhansk region residents, members of organized criminal group, being in the territory of the yard of Starobelsk city council and fulfilling the order for murder, shot a mayor. Criminal proceedings against the organizer of this premeditated murder were separated into a separate proceeding – he was put on the wanted list.
