On 29th January, while entering Kharkiv, crossing a checkpoint near Pisochin, activist of Lugansk Euromaydan, Chairman of the Board of the NGO «Human Rights Center «Postup», the journalist of online media informator.lg.ua and Gromadske TV, who is covering events in ATO area, Konstantin Reutskii was beaten by ex-berkut, employees of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs. According to witnesses, Konstantin didn’t give any reason for the attack.
Konstantin Reutskii has perfomed trips to frontline zone since the beginning of the conflict in the eastern Ukraine. He is experienced in communication with military men and knows the rules of staying in the ATO area, including crossing checkpoints. He is also accredited by the press center of the ATO.
Military men confiscated the camera, with which Konstantin was filming reports in Debaltsevo, Popasnaya, Mariupol, which were constantly under the fire in the last days. Also, the video in camera can contain details of the crime of MIA employees. Konstantin was accompanied by journalists Anastasia Stanko (hromadske.tv) and Paul Penonzhek (Polish Publishing House «Political Criticism»), who reported about the incident. Currently Konstantin Reutsky goes to the police to file a police report about the attack.
