Tuka says that checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska will be open on October 27

Pedestrian checkpoint in Lugansk Region will be open after elections. The head of Lugansk Regional military-civil administration George Tuka said during press-conference that it will be open on October 27.

“We plan to open checkpoint next Tuesday. Everything is ready, border guards and customs. Why we don’t do this today or tomorrow, because we are concerned that this process may influence the security during elections” said Tuka.

According to him National Security and Defense Council gave permission to open that checkpoint. But people would need to have a pass to cross the checkpoint. Tuka also added that there are no plans yet to open logistics center in Stanytsia Luhaska. Previously George Tuka promised to open checkpoint when Stanytia Luhanska is totally secured.
