Air defense missile systems ‘Buk’ are moving to Crimea from RF

RF Navy decided to place air defense missile systems ‘Buk’ in occupied Crimea. Their goal is to defend ships, submarines and Black sea fleet vessels from planes, drones and cruise missiles. ‘Izvestiya’ reported about it.

According to the information of the Black sea fleet HQ the principal decision to deploy air defense missile systems in Crimea has been already accepted.

It’s waited that new air defense missile systems will entered service of 1096th anti-aircraft missile regiment, which is based in Sevastopol. The regiment will get ‘Buk-M2’ complexes on the first stage, next they will have more upgraded ‘Buk-M3’. The exact date of the beginning of the rearmament is unknown yet.

We add that ‘Buk-M2’ affects aircraft and drones at a distance of 3 to 45 km, cruise and ballistic missiles at a distance of 20 km. ‘Buk’ missiles reach the the target on the high 25 thousand meters.
