Kyiv guarantees safety to ‘Eurovision’ guests

In spite of warfare in Donbass, organizers of ‘Eurovision-2017’ song contest and public activists deny problems with safety for the guests of Ukraine. DW reports about this.

According to Kyiv City Council deputy Oleg Petrovets words additional surveillance cameras will be mounted for operative reaction on possible conflict and unforeseen situations.

‘Certainly, security issues are very important. Except strengthened work of law enforcement agencies it’s planned to mount four thousand cameras and four thousand more have been already mounted’, he noted.

The deputy also reminded that Donbass is in 800 kilometers from Kyiv.

‘Even when there were Maidan collisions in 2014, all city lived its own peace life and in 800 meters from the main square of the country spectacles were held in theaters and there were present foreign guests’, he emphasized.

As it’s known, according to preliminary data, up 30 thousands of tourists is going to come to Kyiv on ‘Eurovision-2017’.

20 thousands of foreign tourists and from 7 to 10 thousand people from other cities of Ukraine are expected.
