Donbass fighters fired on Red Cross mission in time of handing out of humanitarian aid at NGCA

In time of humanitarian action holding on the Non-Government Controlled Areas on Thursday, May 18, fighters machine-gunned the staff of the mission of the International Committee of Red Cross. The press-center of HQ ATO reports about it.

‘On May 18, 2017, in time of planned handing out of food and hygiene kits in Dolomytne settlement on the Non_Government Controlled Areas, pro-Russian mercenaries fired on staff of the International Committee of Red Cross. A number of strings of bursts came closer people and cars of the mission. Fortunately, nobody got injured’, tells the message.

According to the information of the Special Operation press-center, the machine-gun of Red Cross representatives took part namely from NGCA gangs and it was done from captured territories of Donetsk region. Such conclusion was drawn after the examination of details and journals of registration ov violation of a ceasefire regime.

‘Machine-gun of a place of handing out of humanitarian aid was made by NGCA gangs to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spread panic and fear among locals and ICRC representatives’, HQ staff emphasized it.

It was noted that to provide humanitarian action on May 18, 2017, AFU gave to ICRC written security guarantees. At the same time, there were no such guarantees from the side of NGCA gangs. ICRC representatives realized the issuance of humanitarian aid at their own will and risk.

‘Ukrainian side of Joint Center for Coordination and Ceasefire (JCCC) categorically condemns actions of NGCA gangs and qualifies them as the rude violation of International humanitarian law’, staff of HQ ATO resumed.
