The deputies of The State Duma will discuss the bill in autumn, which toughen the responsibility for incorrect using of Soviet and Russian symbolism. The member of CPRF Vadim Soloviev reported about it to “Russian service of news”. The law “about defense of state symbols of USSR and RF” will determine the use of such symbols.

“If symbolism is used in the commercial aims, it will need to get the expert opinion — to present a specific design, the sample of this product. The experts will make the conclusion: if it doesn’t have any distortion, if using symbols on products do not cause rejection, then the detention will be given. The expert group will be created in The Ministry of Justice. It will include the philologists, lawyers, designers” — deputy explained.

The offenders of this law will wait the serious execution: “If using of state symbolism will be made without special permission and it’s distorted purposefully, then responsibility enters into force. The fine sanctions on legals to 5 mln. rubles and individuals — 10-20 thousands of rubles. The criminal responsibility is provided in a case when it is purposeful distortion of state symbolism with mocking overtones. The criminal responsibility in my understanding must be real, to 5 years of imprisonment” — Soloviev reported.

We would remind that The President of Ukraine Petr Poroshenko signed the four laws in May, where Soviet symbolism is prohibited and communist regime is condemned, the

archives of the Soviet secret police is opening and fighters for the independence of Ukraine Ukrainian Insurgent Army and other organizations are recognized.
