Empty Holy Trinity Temple, recently repaired school, damaged by shells, the only way to the “big land” – problem for cars pontoon passage. Those are images with which Troitskoe meets its rare guests. The village is situated on the border of Luhansk and Donetsk regions… Now it has one more border with “independent LPR”.
Such neighborhood left no chances for local residents, they had to hide in basements and shelters during artillery shelling.
People tell: a woman walked outside her house to answer a phone call and a shell exploded near her. She survived, but doctors had to cut her leg. People know many such stories here.
School building has been repaired recently, with new red roof … But it was damaged by shrapnel.
Svetlana Nosach told that three residents of the village died under the fire.
There are almost no houses without damages. Streets on edges of the village suffered the most, including our agricultural enterprises on a suburb, — Svetlana tells. – Every house was damaged there.
Troitskoe is only 6 km away from the Kalinovo village, which is controlled by fighters.
At first, they fired from mortars, then from “Grad” mounts, — residents of the village tell.
You can easily find more than ten remains of shells near the church. There are shell craters along the asphalted road in the village. School and Village Council’s buildings are damaged by shrapnel. Employees of state financed institutions were lucky not to be at work then.
It was January – the most fierce winter month, with maximum shelling. “Grad” shells hit Holy Trinity Temple, built in 1840, broke the bell, which keeps lying on the roof. The most accurate shell hit the altar at the center of the church. A priest has moved, because his house was destroyed, now people have to go to eparchy to ask for a new one.
It is quiet in the village in the afternoon, but residents hear shells’ explosions and cannot relax here.
Residents of Troitskoe remember times without electricity, but now there are no such problems. The village has never had a gas supply.
Village Council works, but people didn’t manage to restore work of the Post office. Only one store works, but only during the first half of the day – because people are afraid. They have only the most necessary products there – bread, sausages …
The question of transportation – is a special topic for residents. There is a small river Luhanka in the village, there are two bridges across it, one of them is closed because of a very bad conditions and the other one was blown up a few weeks ago. It was replaced by a pontoon bridge, which is pretty dangerous way of transportation for cars.
Even despite some problems with utilities, village residents are happy that combats calmed down a bit, even though they haven’t stopped yet, they hope for the end of war.
