The court in occupied by Russia Crimea has extended the term of detention in jail to two figurants of a ‘case of Ukrainian saboteurs’ Eugeny Panov and Andrew Zakhtei for 2 months.

The decision was adopted by controlled by Kremlin Supreme Court of Crimea on October 6. Radio Liberty reports about it.

‘The session was held in closed mode. The court issued the statement about this. At the same time the judge satisfied the petition of the defense to publicly announce the decision. The arrest was extended till December 9. Moreover, I asked that Panov mustn’t be kept in a cage during the session. The court considered that this wasn’t his competence’, the attorney of Eugeny Panov Sergei Legostov told.

The lawyer added that jail leadership limits his defendant in the right to receive information.

‘Not so long ago I passed to jail a few papers on Panov’s name. But as of today he hasn’t received them yet. They are actually limited from information. The newspapers that the lawyer passes are stealing. Subscriptions do not give. There is very little literature in the jail, except that religious’, Legostov told.

The session to extend preventive measure to Andrew Zakhtei was also in the closed mode. His interests were presented by the attorney by appointment.
