Nearly 150 people of «Berkut» staff were moved into children’s recreation camp «Fresh» to live with leisuring children. Father of one of the child reported about it to informator.lg.ua.

According to his words, children tell that staff of “Berkut” smokes, drink alcohol on a territory of recreation camp, swear and threaten to the little guests of the camp with physical violence.

“They live only one floor higher than 9-years and 14-years old children. The friend of my child told that “Berkut” soldiers can freely come into the rooms of kids and to take their things. One of them without asking anybody took the guitar of a child. The instrument was found in the corridor after a day. During the silent hour drunk militias walked through the all rooms, threatening to kids using abusive lecture. There was heard a phrase “I’m saving you here and you’re laughing.” They smoke everywhere and this is the recreation institution” — tells outraged father.

According to his words, the militias are feeded in the dining-room, that’s why children must eat in a hall of camp.

The deputy director for education Viktoria Aleksandrenko claims that directive to settle top-brassers was given to administration of the camp from level of the power above and directorate was obliged to obey.

“The situation is under our control. The floors are closing. Educators are on the floors. We minimized the communication of kids with militias” — reports Viktoria Aleksandrenko.

The deputy director affirms that man leisuring with children are not Kharkiv’s Special Forces “Berkut”, they’re militias from Kirovohrad.

However, one of the employees of camp on conditions of anonymity confirmed that militias came to Kyiv’s park zone “Puscha Vodytsa” from Kharkiv and they’re the ex-staff of disbanded unit “Berkut”.

Also, employee confirms that the reason of settling the militias is the shortage of children in the camp.

“This year only 50 places from 150 were filled by children. Administration decided to add this emptiness with militias” — reported the employee.

According to words of human rights activist Svetlana Tarabanova the behaviour of staff on militia breaks the legislation.

“It depends from ownership and installation documents of this camp, if militias legally or not are there. However, free moving of militias through the children’s rooms, especially intoxicated, breaks the principle of private space of a child. Of course, nobody had any rights to feed children in wrong places. Such action break the model-provisions about children’s health institutions, they’re illegal and break the rights of a child” — sured Svetlana.

According to words of the deputy director, such neighborhood is typical for sanatoriums of Kyiv’s park zone “Puscha-Voditsa”. She promised under pressure of parents to move out militia staff from the camp.
