Avdiivka: Details of wounding of British photographer become known

Late in the evening of February 2, as a result of shelling of Avdiivka settlement by Russian occupation troops British photographer Christopher Nunn. The press-service of ATO HQ the journalist with a left eye injury was evacuated to military medical hospital #66. After, wounded was delivered to the regional clinic named by I. I. Mechnikov of Dnipro to provide skilled medical care.

Later, the advisor of the chairman of Dnipro Regional State Administration Tatiana Guba reported on her Facebook page that photographer was at the moment of Avdiivka shelling with the editorial task – to shot a report, about what’s happening.

‘Chris is the foreigner, photographer. He came with the interpreter, Dnipro resident, to Avdiivka to shot a report’, the advisor noted and added that the threat of losing of his eye exists.  

Tatiana Guba also clarified the details of tragic incident. According to her words, the photographer was visiting one of the female inhabitants of the city, where he shot his report. At that moment shell hit into five-storey house and windows were knocked out by shock wave.

‘Window frames flew into the flats, everything was swept away, people were knocked down, hostess in the kitchen at that time was preparing tea to guests. Woman died in Avdiivka hospital. Chris was found by our emergency at a place of the catastrophe and accepted him with eye injury to military hospital. One eye is in danger of losing. I don’t know, if he managed to do last picture of this woman’, tells the report.
