Yesterday’s night Russian occupation troops have shelled the Avdeevka neighborhood from Multiple rocket launch system ‘Grad’. As a result few houses were damaged, among them residential five-storey house. City was left without electricity, heating and water. Right after the shelling the head of Donetsk Regional Military-Civilian Administration (RMCA) Pavel Jebrivsky has reported that during a day rescue rangers and other services could evacuate up to 8 thousand of people.
‘Cities of region are not ready to accept up to 9 thousand of people. Child facilities are ready to accept more than 1000 kids at any moment. Nearly 10 tons of food are coming to the city. Military provided additional field-kitchens’, Jebrivsky stressed.
Rescue rangers of The Main Department of the State Emergency Situations in the Donetsk region launched 7 mobile stations for heating on the territory of Avdeevka, suffering from shellings and absence of light, water and heat. 25 people of personnel were involved to service them. Stations of heating are provided by a heat cannon and a generator connected to a 88 kW. There people can keep warm, get a hot tea, food and charge mobile phones.
At the same time radiators are cold in flats of dwellers. People complaint on low temperature of the air. CEO of Avdeevka Coke plant Musa Magomedov explained that at the moment the enterprise is trying to keep heat in the city and not to defrost system.
It’s known, that repair brigades couldn’t go to the scene of an accident. In particular, the chairman of Donetsk RCMA Pavel Jebrivsky reported that city was surviving one more cold and dark night.
‘Shellings of Avdeevka don’t stop. Russian side of Joint Center for Coordination and Ceasefire hasn’t provided written confirmation of the ceasefire in the repair works zone’, he clarified.
In its turn the director of Avdeevka Coke plant assured that retention of heat supply in the city is going in manual mode. This means, that any break of a large pump, the mistake of operator, gas leak will bring to the stop of a factory and to defrost of heating system in the city.
‘We are walking the tightrope and really hope that everything will be alright. But if there is no truce here and we can’t quickly begin to recover power line, so chances to recover Coke chemical factory are weak enough’, the CEO stressed.
