The joint action of the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy in favor of Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov has taken place on February 14 on the International Film Festival in Berlin. “Interfax-Ukraine” reports about it.
Ten people with the portraits of Sentsov and posters in English and German “Tell truth is not a crime!” lined up in the foyer of “Cinemax” complex.
The participants of the action called to review the case of the convicted in Russia on 20 years of strict regime Sentsov.
“It’s not the first time when we call Russian power to pay attention to the injustice according to Oleg, who didn’t made any crime”, claimed the PR-director of the European Film Academy Paskal Edelmann, one of the participants of the action.
The action on Berlinale was held before the world premiere of the documentary “Mariupol”, shot by the Latvian, French and Ukrainian filmmakers.
We would remind that director Oleg Sentsov, sentenced by Russian court to 20 years of imprisonment became the laureate of Shevchenko’s prize.
