The control point of entry and exit “Mariinka” has resumed its work after weekly break. The correspondent of informator.lg.ua tells about first days of the work of checkpoint.
In connection with frequent shellings of AFU positions and checkpoint from February 17, 2016 the control point of entry and exit “Mariinka” was temporary closed. It resumed work on February 22.
According to the words of border guards, the turns significantly decreased in the first day of work, comparing with the same period before a week of closing .
“Maybe not everyone knows that we opened”, suppose border guards. Really, the queue is not so big on Tuesday, at 2 pm.
“Passenger and transport traffic is stable, but in direction – exit from the temporary uncontrolled territory the traffic is larger… But it always was”, tells the Colonel Alexander Polevoy.
More than 3 thousand of people have passed through the checkpoint at the first day: 1,5 thousand to exit and more than 1,7 to enter.
Already a week passed, when Mariinka became the most hot spot of ATO zone. The town has been strongly shelled from February 15.
“During last three days the number of shellings significantly decreased, that’s why ATO leadership decide to resume the work of the checkpoint”, tells the Colonel Polevoi.
The procedure of passing in checkpoint takes nearly 20-30 minutes: documents, skips the contents of the bags and trunks are checked.
Automobile turn has to stay much longer.
Those, who want to turn faster in checkpoint can use the service of locals. They will sell the place in the turn of cars for 200 UAH.
“We took it from the evening… Night we stay here… At day we “give in” our place to those, who need it. So, what we must do? There is no job in the town, we earn as we can”, tells local Alexander.
However, border guards passed themselves out of turn without any payment:
“I have a pregnant woman on 7th month in my car”, – says the driver, – duty shows with his hand in reply “come here”…
According to the opinion of the border guards, the stream of crossing the demarcation line won’t grow in a closer time, because checkpoint “Zaitsevo” began to work.
We would remind that checkpoint “Mariinka” temporary stopped its work from February 17, 2016.
