The most restless situation was in Mariupol direction. In general fighters fired 96 shells and 383 mines. Colonel Andrei Lysenko, the speaker of the Ministry of Defense for ATO has reported about it in time of briefing in the Ukrainian crisis media-center.
3/4 of shellings were from the heavy weapons – 82 and 120 mm mortars and 122 mm artillery. The most hot set-up was near Shirokino, Talakovka and Vodyane village. Pro-Russian gangs actively used artillery and mortars between 7 am to 8:30 am and then in the evening between 4 am to 7 pm. ‘Also occupants fired from artillery near Lebedynske and used mortars nera Krasnohorivka and Pavlopol. Close to Mariinka, Hnutove and Novotroitske enemy shot from small arms’, Andrei Lysenko added.
No one Ukrainian military died during last day. Two got injured as a result of shelling from the side of insurgents near Nevelske village.
Fighters concentrate their fire in Popasnaya district, except isolated armed provocations near Stanitsa Luhanska in Luhansk direction. Intensity of shellings grew.
‘Fighters used mortars near Novozvanivka and Popasnaya and with the beginning of dark time they used artillery of 122 and 152 mm calibre on this sites and also near Troitske village. In general the enemy have fired 29 mines and 32 shells’, speaker ATO noted.
The provocations from small arms of fighters’ side were fixed near Avdeevka and on Horlovka perimeter, in particular, near Majorsk and Zaitsevo in Donetsk direction. Also insurgents have opened fire from mortars near Avdeevka and Luhanske village – in general they fired 43 mines. ‘At the end of a day enemy has made shelling of Ukrainian positions near Nevelske village of Yasinovataya district. Totally fighters fired out 30 shells’, colonel Lysenko resumed.
