The speaker of the State Border Service Oleg Slobodyan commented the detention of 43-year old Ukrainian by Russian border guards. Citizen of Ukraine tried to cross the border with Crimea in the car checkpoint ‘Perekop’ ostensibly under the false surname. Incident could happen on January 5. Slobodyan told about it on the TV-channel ‘112 Ukraine’.
‘As the result of additional check we detected that maybe that fact could happen, but it was on January 8’, Oleg Slobodyan claimed and added that the citizen of Ukraine could change the surname and got new documents according to established order to get on the territory of occupied Crimea.
Speaker also said, that ‘we had no grounds to detain him, but as the result of additional filtration measures, most likely, the Russians were able to identify, that it’s namely the citizen, which was held on the database, and it is prohibited to enter the territory of Russian Federation’.
At the same time Slobodyan noted, that State Border Service of Ukraine doesn’t support contacts with the representatives of law enforcements of RF on the peninsula, so, to check an information about the detention of Ukrainian in Crimea they could only at their databases.
‘We’re continuing to check this information with other law enforcements and final results will be a little bit later’, Oleg Slobodyan noted.
We would remind that Russian court has remanded in custody the citizen of Ukraine, who had changed the surname to get to the territory of Crimea.
