The occupants of Donetsk region have made the opinion poll, during which citizens were asked if they trust to policy, made by Russia according to ‘DPR’. The results showed that Donetsk inhabitants expressed disbelief to Russian Federation. At the same time insurgents claim that Donbass residents still not lose a hope that Russia soon could take them to itself. The results of a poll, made by some center ‘Initsiativa’ (Initiative) were published by website ‘Patriotic Donbass forces’, controlled by field commander Aleksander Khodakovsky.
‘Do you trust to policy of Russian Federation according to Donetsl People’s Republic?’. 41% of respondents has answered negatively. Wherein only 14% had given negative answer a year ago (the data of the re-examination are reflected in red).
‘As poll has showed, 47.4% of the ‘republic’ are absolutely trust to policy of Russian Federation according to ‘DPR’ ( not a big decreasing on 0.7%). Although, the number of respondents, who expressed mistrust to policy of Russia according to self-proclaimed ‘republic’, has increased on 27%.
Compared to the previous research (14.3%), after a year, 41.3% of the respondents took a negative stance on this issue. The growth of this indicator became 27%’, the authors of the poll commented received data.
‘How do you think, what policies pursued by Russia in relation to Donetsk People’s Republic?’. The biggest part of respondents (31.7%) hoped that Russia will though include ‘DPR’ in itself. But nearly the same number (28.6%) considers that Russia’s making ‘buffer zone’ in Donbass. Nearly a quarter of the respondents considers that Russia is going to come back Donbass to Ukraine.
Herewith, comparing with the last year, hopes for Russia increased. But, it’s not clear what factors contributed to this growth. Russia had been claiming during all the year that Donbass is the territory of Ukraine and been refusing in every way from this land. It’s interesting that 6.9% of the respondents chose this variant of an answer; ‘Russia doesn’t care what will be with DPR’.
‘For how long this policy will be realized?’. 38.8% of the respondents have claimed that it will happen during next 5 years. 23% have expressed hope that Russia will take to itself ‘DPR’ and ‘LPR’ this year. 22% more agreed that joining Russia could happen only after long years.
We note that comparing with the previous year the optimism of Russia supporters significantly waned. If earlier biggest part of the respondents believed that Russia exactly take Ukrainian Donbass to itself, so it’s obviously for the most part of Donetsk dwellers, that Russia isn’t hurry to take them under their wing.
Poll authors have summed up: ‘The second poll showed, that republic inhabitants almost ceased to hope for fast determination of the political status of the republic. Only 23.4% of the respondents consider, that status will become clear during a year (it’s 11% low than in the previous poll). At the same time, 38.8% poll participants are sure that political settlement in Donbass will last for at least another five years (growth on 11.8%). 22% ofthe respondents (growth on 6.5%) are sure that issue about Donbass status can last for many years. 8.9% of the respondents could not determine with the answer. Dominant trust, observed a year ago, neutralized’.
