The Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Jury Stets is against blocking of Russian social media ‘Odnoklassniki’ and ‘VK’ on the territory of Ukraine, because internet is the free space. He claimed about it in the interview to Censor.net.

‘So, there is no access to anything in China. So what? Can we shut the access to social media in this country” No, it’s impossible. Because of two reasons. First – it’s not regulated by law. Second – if we begin to do this, where’s the guarantee that authority won’t relish it and begin to close everything? And maybe other will say: ‘Close Facebook!’? This won’t happen. Otherwise we finish badly. Internet is a free space’, Stets noted.

At the same time, answering on remarks of journalist that state is blocking Russian TV-channels, Stets claimed: ‘This is about sanction list. There are, beginning from personalities and finishing the legal entities, also TV-channels. It’s better not to touch the internet!’.

We would remind that the advisor of the minister of internal affairs Zoryan Shkiryak called to block social media ‘VK’ and ‘Odnoklassniki’ in Ukraine, because they are controlled by Russian secret services.
