Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov is sure that the continuing of Donbass blockade will bring inevitably to economic losses. Behind the blocking the minister sees political ambitions.
Avakov noted in the interview to ‘Interfax – Ukraine’, that DTEK enterprises have paid into the budget of Ukraine 36.1 UAH of taxes. The turnover between enterprises complex occurs in the Ukrainian national currency, money don’t go out of Ukrainian borders.
The MIA head noted the importance of the understanding of the meaning of economic component of the problem and called blockade participants to sense.
‘So, is it nothing that we close the coal from our occupied territory to our citizens? At the same time RF is continuing to get calmly 10 tons of coal per year. Does anybody remember about it? And by the way, we buy on re-export gas from Slovenia, but it’s really Russian. Nearly 125 thousand of miners are involved in coal mining on the occupied territories… Nearly 300 thousand of workers in this branch we have on our territory… So what, to leave all this people without work means to free Donbass?’, Avakov asked.
MFA head is sure that the issue of the support or unsupport of blockade is separating artificially the society, undermining the situation in the country and giving the rise to escalation of the conflict from outside.
‘It’s very important for me that everyone who thinks that he is an Ukrainian patriot, carefully weighed everything… This situation must be understood. And those, who’s playing now on it, are not fair to the country at all’, Avakov emphasized.
What depends on direct work of a police on the scene, according to the words of the head of facility, it’s ensured to the rule of law. The minister assured, that won’t allow provocations and road-blocking, which connects Ukrainian positions in the combat zone.
Avakov considers that political interest is hidden behind the loosening of the blockade issue in the Donbass.
‘Who invented to begin such an action in freezes? It’s so convenient, because it comes under the anniversary of Maidan. There are political ambitions. I consider that this problem can be solved only in public communication sphere’, Avakov’s sure.
