SBU staff in Sumy has liquidated uncontrolled international telephone connection channel, which was distantly controlled by concerned people from Russia. The top-brasser press-service has reported about it.
Also it’s known that four Sumy residents watched for work of the channel. They got Russian web-traffic bypassing international commutation centers with the help of IP-telephony.
After getting of Russian traffic Sumy dwellers processed it with the help of specialized software and hardware complex of telecommunication under the guise of local calls directed into the networks of Ukrainian mobile connection operators.
‘Telephone connection was made by such a way also with the subscriber, who are on the temporary occupied Donbass territories’, SBU staff explained.
Attackers received funds for the rental of premises, as well as compensation for their illegal activities in the form of wire transfers from a Russian company.
In time of searchings in offices and in the places of living of attackers , law enforcements seized computers, equipment, wireless modems and one hundred and fifty cards of Ukrainian mobile operators. The total value of the seized equipment is more than half a million hryvnias.
The law enforcement agencies have opened criminal proceedings on this fact under Part. 2 tbsp. 361 (unauthorized interference in the telecommunication network) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Urgent operational investigations to establish all those involved in illegal activities are continuing. Possible connection of attackers with Russian security services is investigating too.
