In particular, the head of Department for New Challenges and Threats of RF Ilya Rogachev noted that charges under the convention on financing of terrorism by the state require not only the fact of a terrorist act, and not only assistance to those who committed it, but also that the sponsor ‘had intentions or knew about the terrorist act’.
‘This means that intentions, or knowledges must be’, he emphasized additionally.
In its turn, the lawyer Samuel Wordsworth, who also represented RF interests, said that Ukraine didn’t submit orders to fulfill these requirements in the episode with the supply of ‘Buk’ complex in the country.
‘There must be the awareness that ‘Buk’ supplies exactly to attack civilian aircraft. But Ukraine confirms only that it was supplied from Russia and nothing more’, he explained.
Otherwise, according to his words, basing on media reports, fighters were going to prang military Ukrainian, but not civilian aircraft.
At the same time lawyer didn’t recognized that Antiaircraft missile complex ‘Buk’ was really supplied from Russian territory. He emphasized that Russia with distrust and doubt relates to the results of the investigation, promulgated by The International Investigation Team.
