Crimean Football Union claimed that got a million from UEFA on soccer

Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) ostensibly has allocated an amount of one million euros to develop football in occupied by Russia Crimea. A post on the Crimean Football Union (CFU) website tells about it.

Also, there reported that UEFA representatives ‘Highly appreciated the work of the Crimean Football Union on the development of football on the peninsula and expressed their readiness to maximize further full support of football in the Crimea’.

Dozhd’ – channel writes about it, noting, that meeting with UEFA and CFU representatives participation took place on March 10. Ostensibly, the most actual problems of Crimean football were discussed on it and ‘the ways to solve them were developed’. Following the meeting UEFA officials reported that they are ready to cooperate with Crimea on different projects, in particular, by UEFA program ‘Hat trick’, the essence of which is in the building of mini-grounds for football with artificial turf.

Also, there is note in CFU post that ‘further UEFA specialists are going to visit peninsula, where they can assess the situation with the sport number one in the Crimea’. The specific date and details of the visit of UEFA representatives to the occupied peninsula are not given

Crimean Football Union has claimed about the creation of own National team on November last year. CFU has UEFA specific status. The organization was registered on July 2015 already after peninsula ‘joined Russia’.

‘Novaya gazeta’ (New paper) found out in August 2014 that the question of incorporation of Crimea and Sevastopol into Russian Football Union was discussed on RFC session. Ex-president of the organization Nikolai Tolstoy, president and co-owner of CSKA Evgeny Giner, and also Vladimir Yakunin, Olga Smorodskaya, Sergei Galitsky and others took part in it. They discussed possible circumstances of Crimea introduction into RFC, including FIFA and UEFA sanctions.
