The terrorist act was made was made on March 31 in Mariupol. The car where was Ukrainian counterintelligence officer Alexander Kharaberush was exploded. Bogdan Petrenko, deputy director of the Ukrainian Institute for the Study of Extremism has commented this resonance criminal.

Petrenko wrote about this incident at 112.ua:

First. Murder was not only an indicative, it was also a classic terrorist act, when information resonance of the criminal is high enough. The explosion of the automobile in the center of a half a million city , of course, attracts attention at the moment. Especially, if it happens in the frontline city. Especially, if the murder concerns one of the leaders of the counterintelligence of the country that is waging war.

Actually, this speaks of the intimidation not only of the population of Ukraine, but also of the workers of the Ukrainian special services. Maybe, the goal of this criminal was to sow panic in wide circles and demotivate the active activity of the special services.

Second. SBU promised quick answer. It’s very positive fact from one side, because this murder affects not only honor of Ukrainian top brassers, but also all the system of safety of all Ukrainian citizens.

However, from the other side, it’s not a secret to anyone that effectivity and speed are not synonyms. That’s why excessive pedaling of measures now could bring to the ‘overdose of work’, this means that investigators could touch even such part of citizens, who don’t have separatist views. Actually, really this – law enforcers forming of wish to revenge, which could escalate into rash steps, can become terrorists main leitmotiv. Especially if it’s about so ambiguous on political views Donbass population.

Third. The meeting of Russian administration and State Department head must take place on April and it can change American policy according to Ukraine. And if till that time inside problem in Ukraine (including internal security or allegations of excessive abuse of power by law enforcers) overpower questions of Ukrainian and Russian conflict, positions of American administration can shake not in our side.

Fourth. One important parallel is drawing now – ‘DPR’ representatives are called guilty in murder of Ukrainian counterintelligence. Maybe, it could bring to an ‘answer’ to ‘secret services’ of the fake republic and, in its turn, raise the confrontation between secret services on more bloody level.

Symbolically, that these exacerbations are more profitable for those, who try to position conflict on the East only like Civil war: to move out Russia from the limits of this warfare and further production of a situation in the public opinion like ‘Ukraine VS Donbass’. We won’t come back Donbass if we hate people from there and Russia will stay ‘out of process’.
