The front aviation of the Southern Military District (SMD) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (RF AF) of Volgograd region and occupied Crimea was raised on alert.

‘Pilots of Air Forces and Air defense of the Southern Military District in Crimea and Volgograd region were raised on combat-training alert in the framework of flight and tactical exercises. Front-line aviation Su-24M, Su-25M and Su-25SM crews handle issues on the destruction of the aircraft fleet of combat vehicles, facilities and bases of conventional illegal armed formations, as well as their large warehouses of fuel and lubricants, caches with weapons and ammunition’, the head of SMD press-service, the colonel Vadim Astafiev has reported.

It’s noted that squadrons of Su-25M, Su-25SM and Su-24M bombers carry out tasks in the conditions of active counteraction of the air defense of the conventional enemy to reach ‘real combat situation’.

‘Military pilots will make more than 120 combat training missions during 4 days. Flight tactical exercises are planned, nearly 30 aircraft units take part in them’, Astafiev clarified.
