Activists stopped provocations of ‘Opposition bloc’ in Mariupol, connected with ‘DPR’

The press-conference ‘Will ‘DPR’ 2:0 takes start in Mariupol?’ has taken place in frontline Mariupol. Representatives of city’s mass told about measures against provocative actions, which ‘Opposition bloc’ had begun. Donetsk press-club has told about it.

‘It’s a first time, when messages to split society sounded in Mariupol on April 19, 2017. It happened on the session of City’s Council’, ‘Opposition bloc’ deputy Andrei Fedai blamed Ukrainian power in the ‘infringement of Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine on ‘ethnic, cultural, linguistic, religious grounds’.

‘Opposition bloc has promulgated on April 25 the statement about the beginning of all-Ukrainian action ‘Fight together – together we’ll overcome!’, which happened at the same date, when Nataliya Korolevskaya visited Mariupol. Tents with ‘Opposition bloc’ have been already waiting for her. Postcards, given to people by promoters, had the content about ‘Russian language protection’ and ‘fighting with Nazism’. Korolevskaya strengthened this handout with slogans about ‘unity opposition party’, which activity interrupts power (by the way ‘Opposition bloc’ has 45 deputy mandates from 54 in Mariupol City Council – ed.)’, tells the message.

It was noted that during ‘There were brawls and discussions near tents on April 25-27’. Local volunteers have organized hot-line, on which residents reported about tents placements and conflicts around them. Statements and applications about provocative activity of ‘Opposition bloc’ were directed to MFA, SBU and city’s and regional authorities.

‘To the moment of the beginning of the press-conference it became known that under pressure of the community mayor banned rally during May 1-9. According to volunteers’ data, the ‘March against nazism’ was planned on May 9 featuring brought ‘titushki’ (gathered gang street fighters)’, tells the text.

Otherwise, the Head of Donetsk Regional Military-Civilian Administration Pavel Jebrivsky has recognized the fact of ‘hidden agents’ try from the side of neighbor country. It was needed to ‘shatter the situation, first of all, in Mariupol, before the Day of mourning for those killed in WWII’. After that the message about stopping the action appeared. Tents of political forces were moved out on April 28 after that.

‘Public activists Dmitry Chichera, Alexander Maslov, Maxim Borodin, Bogdan Chaban, Kirill Dolimbaev, Marina Pugacheva, Alexei Semanin have evaluated ‘Opposition bloc’ actions as anti-Ukrainian and provocative. They summed up the results of organized resistance and invited all presented people to visit rally ‘We are Mariupol!’ on April 30’, was noted in the text.

Invited on the press-conference ‘Opposition bloc’ representatives didn’t appear. Also, SBU staff was absent. But, the head of City patrol police Vitay Gorkun assured that 2014 is not 2017 and MFA departments are watching for events and won’t allow law violation. From April 28 to May 17 they will work in enhanced mode.

‘We are ready to counteract to any attempts to fallout the situation in Mariupol’, Garkun said.

‘Planned rally on the Theatre square gathered nearly 700 residents of the city under Ukrainian flags’ tells the message.

Pictures of Mariupoll photographer and activist Eugeny Sosnovsky were published in the Facebbok.

Also it was noted that during the performance activists launched into the sky the scarecrow of Fedai and collected money for deputy on the ticket to Magadan.
