It’s necessary to ‘carry out a thorough check of all who wish to get a biometric passport, arriving from NGCA’. The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has reported about it, facility press-service wrote.
Turchynov noted that ‘after the beginning of activation of visa-free regime of Ukraine with the EU a number of applicants to get biometric passports from the Crimea and from the territory of the occupied Donbass significantly increased’.
‘At the same time, without access to archives, which were left on occupied areas, the dangerous is appearing, that under the guise of Ukrainian citizens from the occupied territories the access to visa-free regime could get citizens of another country, terrorists or representatives of Russian special services’, the NSDC secretary reported.
According to his words ‘to prevent this, it’s necessary to make changes into acting legislation, this will allow to carry out very thorough check of citizens, arriving from occupied territories to get biometric passports’.
‘In case of discrepancy of the presented data, such citizens should be denied a biometric passport’, Turchynov convinced.
‘In this regard, ‘the NSDC Secretary held a meeting with the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Migration Service, the Security Service, the border guards and the like’, the press-service wrote.
