Russian MFA head recognized that RF fights in Donbass

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergei Lavrov has recognized that he often hears critics about RF interference into the conflict in Donbass and Syria. He claimed about it at the second scientific-expert forum in Moscow on June 30, 2017. The verbatim report of his performance is published on the MFA RF website.

Answering on the question, if it seems to him that on a variety of international agenda, the Russian Federation ‘is not playing in its league’, Lavrov said: ‘Everything depends on who looks at one or another situation. I don’t know, if political society is perceiving that we ‘play not in our league’. I read and still hear the critics that we were in vain engulfed in the conflict in the Donbass, in the Syrian conflict’.

By recognition of Lavrov the ensuring of strategic stability depends on the relationships between USA and Russia.

‘Of particular importance in today’s world is the relationship between Russia and the United States of America, on which the solution of many international problems depends – from ensuring strategic stability to settling regional crises’, ‘LIGA’ cites Lavrov.

USA journalist Julia Davis wrote in her Twitter after Lavrov’s statement: ‘Tectonic shift: Russian Lavrov recognizes that Russia is at war with Ukraine in Donbas’.
