Companies, connected with ex-owners of PivatBank (central office in Dnipro) submitted to the financial institution 92 lawsuit for 8.913 billion UAH (~$342 mln.), the relevant data are given in the presentation of the bank. ‘Interfax-Ukraine’ has reported about it.
According to the document, in particular the number of submitted lawsuits is 2 902 to the tune of 20.185 billion UAH (~$774.81 mln.).
According to data of PrivatBank Head of the Board Alexander Shlapak, financial facility in its turn, filed suits in courts worth 23.8 billion UAH (~$910 mln.).
‘The total amount of claims for claims that we filed, – 23.8 billion UAH. These are not necessarily former shareholders, but also they are there’, he said to journalists after the press-conference in the ‘Interfax-Ukraine’ agency on Tuesday, July 5.
We note that next PrivatBank co-owner Ihor Kolomoisky filed an application to the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv with a request to terminate the bailout agreement on June 9.
According to the Unified State Register of Court Cases, the defendants in the suit are the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and PrivatBank itself.
Earlier NBU head Valery Gontareva claimed, that repayment of existing debt on refinancing loans in the amount of 13.8 billion UAH (~$530 mln.) by PrivatBank will free the ex-co-owner of the financial institution I. Kolomoisky from a personal guarantee.
- Gontareva clarified that refusal from such a repayment of refinancing, issued to the bank before its nationalization in late 2016, is registered in a memorandum with the International Monetary Fund.
She also emphasized that National Bank has been issuing this refinancing before the nationalization of a bank only for real assets and under the personal guarantee of I. Kolomoisky, whereas there is no such real assets to provide the corporate loan portfolio issued by the bank itself.
According to data, presented on NBU website, stabilization loans at 19.9 billion UAH (~$760 mln.) were provided to PrivatBank in 2014. Property complexes, real estate mortgages, land mortgages, property rights under loan agreements, aircraft acted as collateral for the said refinancing. In 2015 NBU issued stabilization loans at 9.7 billions UAH (~$370 mln.). Pledge, property complexes and aircraft acted as collateral for the said refinancing.
