Pechersk District Court of Kyiv gave the permission to hold a special investigation regard to deputy Prime-Minister of Ukraine Nickolay Azarov, run away to Russia. ‘Interfax-Ukraine’ has reported about it, referring on the General Prosecutor’s Office.
General Prosecutor’s Office representatives reminded that Nickolay Azarov is suspected in an embezzlement of state property. This is about p. 5 art. 27, p. 5 art. 191 (an embezzlement, misappropriation or seizure of property through abuse of power) of the Criminal Code.
In particular, on October 12, 2010 Azarov, being on the post of the head of Government, has signed a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers ‘On the coordination of the conditions for holding a tender for the sale of a stake in OJSC ‘Ukrtelecom’.
In connection with this 220 mln/ UAH were given to the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection and this contributed to unreasonable expenses of the state budget for the creation of a special purpose telecommunications network.
