Miners rebel in Luhansk region: The Governor and pitmen are making ‘offensive against Kyiv’

Luhansk region Governor Jury Harbuz immediately went to Kyiv to solve an issue of payment of arrears of wages to miners of OJSC ‘Lisichanskugol’. At the moment a few dozen of pitmen of mines named by G. Kapustin and ‘Novodruzheskaya’ are continuing their protest under the ground.

‘Chairman of the Lugansk regional state administration – the head of the regional military civil administration Jury Harbuz nightly urgently went to Kiev to consider possible ways of solving the problem of paying debts on wages to miners Lisichansk and the situation around LLC ‘Lugansk Energy Association’. The head of a region met with the Prime-Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman and Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Igor Ihor Nasalyk , – Deputy Chairman of the Regional State Administration Jury Klymenko reported about it during a meeting with the initiative group of miners of OJSC ‘Lisichanskugol’.

Regional State Administration website reports that DEputy Governor reminded that in time of yesterday’s telephone talk of Jury Harbuz with Ihor Nasalyk, the Minister promised that miners will get funds, which enterprise owed to them, during first ten days of August.

Also, Jury Klymenko reported to pitmen of Luhansk region that Ihor Nasalyk is waiting for the meeting with an initiative group of miners on Thursday, June 20, in Kiev, and expressed hope for a possible acceleration of the process of issuing debts.

‘The leadership of the regional state administration makes every effort to urgently address this extremely important issue. We are open to dialogue. I am sure that now you have something to report to workers striking under the ground’, Klymenko assured.

We would remind that on July 17, the Chairman of the Lugansk regional state administration – the head of the regional military-civil administration Yuri Garbuz held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Ihor Nasalyk. Also he held a working meeting with the management of JSC ‘Lisichanskugol’ and the chairmen of trade union organizations.
