The Deputy Head of Majlis of Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chjygoz performed with the last word in the ‘supreme court’ of occupied by Russia Crimea. The attorney Nikolay Polozov wrote about it in his Facebook page.

‘Before the death of my mother, I asked her forgiveness, that as a son in her last difficult days, I couldn’t be with her. Gathering her last strength, she said: ‘I am proud that I brought up such a son!’.

Whatever I do, no matter how hard it’s for me now, and if I don’t know if I ever leave alive, I’m even more afraid that my actions, thoughts, statements can disgrace me as a man, as a Crimean Tatar. My people will be ashamed for the trust and election of me to the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people.

‘Ant etkenmen, sez bergenmen millet ichun olmege…’. I, like other members of the Mejlis, pronounced this oath, bowing knees and kissing the national banner, in the courtyard of the Khan’s palace, the symbol of our people, the center of the centuries-old statehood of the Crimean Tatars’, Chiygoz said.

According to his words the ‘reason of a number of deportations, but genocide in fact, was a wish of Russian Empire and then USSR to clean Crimea from Crimean Tatars and to destroy forever the history and memory about our nation’.

‘Each Crimean Tatar pronounces these words, swears an oath and feels responsibility to the future generation for the fate of his nation, for the fate of his Motherland. People elect owns leaders by themselves. Nothing broke the will of the people, nothing could destroy the identity, love for their homeland, for their land, passed down from generation to generation. For Crimean Tatars, as for many other nations, concepts of ‘civic duty’, ‘patriotism’, ‘national dignity’ are special values.

On February 26, 2014 Crimean Tatars and other citizens of Ukraine one more time came out with the protest against threatens to the territorial integrity of Ukraine and with demands to call to account the adventurers from power and political rascals’, The Deputy Head of Majlis applied to court.

He reminded that ‘further in a period of occupation of Crimea Crimean Tatars together with other citizens of Ukraine, in spite of a numerous provocations from the side of these forces, kidnappings, murders, searchings, arrests, bans to hold memorable mourning dates, huge fines for the slightest manifestation of activity, despite the use of wide repressive methods, continued and continue to fulfill their civic duty’.

‘It‘s these circumstances that irritate these forces, lead to anger and are forced to arrange a trial of innocent people. More than 2 years a political process is going on. It has already gone down in history as ‘the case on February 26’. The process, which aim, of course, is to intimidate the Crimean Tatars, to strangle and minimize their activity, defending their rights, supporting Ukraine and global community, which don’t recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea.

It’s obviously for everyone that there is no any case against Ahtem Chiygoz. Incidents, happened on February 26, 2014 at a peaceful rally, announced by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, were provoked by persons, further contributing to the military occupation of the Crimea.

So, they judge not those who betrayed, who had goals and intentions, directed on the changing of the integrity of Ukraine, who then kidnapped and killed people, illegally vested themselves with the power to rule, to judge. They judge those, who were standing for laws of the country, international norms and rules’, Chiygoz claimed.

He emphasized that ‘The frame-up is arranged by the invader country, which has no right on it’.

‘ In this situation, knowing all true intentions of the customers of this process, there are no talks about objectivity and independence of the court. I’m destined to accept this sentence as a verdict for the entire Crimean Tatar people – on behalf of the Russian Federation that occupied my Motherland’, Ahtem Chiygoz finished his speech.

We would remind that the head of Majlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov has claimed that while nothing points on Russia’s intentions to carry out the decision of the International Court of Justice and to stop the oppression of the Crimean Tatars.
