Burned tank of AFU, three years standing on Donetsk track outside of Pervomaiskoe village was delivered on September 12 in Pokrovsk. City authorities, Pokrovsk-Yasivotaya united military commissariat and volunteers of performed with such an initiative.
According to ‘Orbita’ report, the tank that directed to Peski, was battered by fighters of pro-Russian grouping ‘DPR’ on September 14, 2014. Eight people died: four soldier of volunteer battalion ‘Dnepr-1’ and four militaries of 17th separate brigade.

The necessity in tank transportation appeared because looters had been beginning to dismantle it on metal scrap.
‘It was simple to leave tank near the road and to mount a memorial there after some, but nothing would leave from it after two years’, the sergeant of AFU of the Pokrovsk-Yasinovataya united military commissariat Nickolay Tashlitsky explained.
Heavy machinery near Pervomaisk with the tower from the other damaged tank were delivered to repair regiment, which is located now in Pokrovsk. Vehicle will be recovered there and then will be used in building of the memorial complex to dead ATO warriors, Afghan and Chernobyl victims on Defenders of Ukraine street – so-called ‘birch grove’ of Pokrovsk.
‘In time of a first contest on the best project of the monument, announced by Pokrovsk City Council, the commission can’t choose any of proposed variants. We’re going to announce one more competition, in which, we hope, sculptors and architects from all over Ukraine will take part. If there worthy offers appear, so in spring we can begin building the complex’, Yury Tretyak, Deputy Mayor of Pokrovsk told.
