Peacekeepers in Donbass: Ukraine didn’t submit its resolution text to the UN Security Council

Russian media spreaded a fake that Ukraine submitted to UN Security Council its project of the resolution on peacekeeping mission in Donbass. An article ‘Peacekeeping fake’ of a Russian media: why Ukraine didn’t register the project of the resolution in UN Security Council’, published by ‘European Truth’, tells about it.

The edition reports that there are no Ukrainian project of the resolution in UN Security Council.

‘There are really the document from Ukraine in UN in which is described our viewing of a future peacekeeping mission. It’s a letter of the President Peter Poroshenko, which is available to all members of the Security Council, including Russians. It was registered in UN already on April 2015’, tells the message.

Ukraine isn’t going yet to submit a counter project on peacekeepers.

‘There are a number of motives and the main from them is that such a step can hurt us and will prompt the Security Council to accept the document in a wording that is unacceptable to us’, the resource notes.

The convergence is a common practice in UN.

‘If there are two officially registered documents, friends of Russia in the Security Council could say: so, let’s look for something medium between them. But Russian document has few unacceptable points for us’, one of diplomats explained.

We would remind that Russian authorities don’t see the sense in the deployment of UN security mission on the Russian and Ukrainian border.
