As a result of clashes under the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 17 three civils and one law enforcement got injured. The last one become an ATO participant.
PR-Director of the National police Yaroslav Trakalo has claimed in the commentary to ‘112 Ukraine’ TV-channel that situation under Verkhovna Rada ‘more or less calm’, law enforcement provide public order.
‘There was one clash. It happened near the Cabinet of Ministers, when a part of activists was trying to come under the parliament building, without passing surface inspection and not finding a desire to go through the metal detectors and refusing to show the police their belongings. After when policemen didn’t let them in, according to preliminary information, the stones flew into cops and also tear gas was sprayed’, Trakalo told.
He noted that as a result of a clash four persons got injured, one cop is among them. An advisor of the Minister of Internal Affairs, MP from ‘Narodny Front’ (People’s Front) party Anton Geraschenko clarified: ‘As a result of provocations near Verkhovna Rada Yatsenko Ihor Ivanovych, 03.05.1991 y.b. the senior sergeant of police, participant of ATO (2014-2015) was wounded. He has closed craniocerebral injury, concussion of the brain. He fought in Krasny Liman of Donetsk region in 2014, served in the block posts of Svatovo, Severodonetsk, Rubezhnoe, Lisichansk in 2015’.
‘Three civils got an aid at the scene, according to preliminary information – without hospitalization, but it’s still clarifying’, Trakalo said.
Geraschenko emphasized that police and National Guard continue to provide safety for the participants of peaceful action. ‘All provocation will be resolutely curbed’, an advisor of the head of MIA said.
At the same time it became known that protesters mount tents near Verkhovna Rada building with might and main and parliament speaker Andrei Parubii has closed the evening session of VR. MPs managed to consider 250 250 amendments out of 893 submitted to medical reform.
It’s being waited that parliament will manage to finish the consideration of this document today, on October 18. And on Thursday, October 19, Rada will come to issues to which rally participants attract the attention – in particular, to cancel the deputy immunity and introduce open party lists at the elections.
As it was reported earlier, the action of protest of the supporters of an ex-governor of Odessa region, the leader of ‘Rukh Novykh Syl’ party Mikheil Saakashvili and a number of other opposition politicians is taking place under the walls of Verkhovna Rada.
