Avdiivka Coke plant CEO Musa Magomedov told in details about the situation in frontline Avdiivka and about work of the enterprise, which is currently in grave danger. He expressed his vision in blog.
We publish Musa Magomedov’s opinion without changes.
‘We stopped to get coal, which was mined by our ‘Krasnodonugol’, located on the uncontrolled territory. We need heavy coals. We stopped to get nearly 15-20% of coal, which, depending on loading, we replace either American or Australian coals. First, it costs three times as much, second, we withdraw the currency from the country, instead of starting it here.
Colleagues-miners left without work and wage, the Ukraine budget is without payments and very substantial payments were made from our enterprises from an uncontrolled territory.
If we talk about our balance: we suffered losses of about 178 million in February only by replacing these coals with American.
But more critical is that we can not produce as much coke as our consumers-metallurgists need. Metallurgists can’t manufacture competitive products. They also reduce their reductions and sent their people to idle time.
First 200 workers have been already sent to idle, a part of people were sent to repair. I think that at the end of month we will send 800 more staff. This means that these people can’t get decent wages.
It must be understood: that if coal doesn’t go, it’s begin to finish. When it’s over – our electricity and water also will over and it’s not understood from where it can appear. This means the city can die with us’, Musa Magomedov resumed.
We would remind that centralized power supply is still absent in Avdiivka, but there is no panic.
