NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchynov has made the statement today about the checks of the residents of occupied by Russia Crimea and NGCA of Donbass to get biometric passports.
This statement was commented by the coordinator of the legal direction of the ‘Vostok-SOS’ Charitable Foundation Alena Luneva in the conversation with the correspondent of informator.media.
‘Nobody argues about the necessity of the identification of recipients of biometric passports. But this procedure is already exists and it’s contained in the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 07.05.2014 № 152’, Alena Luneva reported.
According to the words of coordinator coordinator of the legal direction of the ‘Vostok-SOS’ Charitable Foundation ‘the allocation of a separate group – those who live or leave the occupied territories – for carrying out ‘thorough checks’ will unambiguously lead to stigmatization of this group and, subsequently, to its discrimination’.
‘We will demand from NSDC to publish the text of a bill, which is referred to in the appeal, and conducting its anti-discrimination expertise, as it provided by law’, Alena Luneva added.
We would remind that lawyers of Charitable Foundation ‘Vostok-SOS’ applied to President of Ukraine Peter Poroshenko in connection with the statement of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov about ostensibly necessary checks of the residents of the Non-Government Controlled Areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and occupied by Russia Crimea before getting of biometric passports.
